Rick Anderson provides senior executives with strategic advice on issues management, public affairs and corporate relations. With senior-level experience in business, government and consulting, he is familiar with public policy, political and regulatory affairs; investor, media and public relations; communications and marketing; crisis management and governance.
Rick spent fifteen years in Ottawa, Toronto, London and Washington with Hill & Knowlton, a leading strategic communications agency, prior to launching his own professional consulting practice. He has advised senior executives in dozens of the world’s largest and most successful companies, and has also assisted early-stage and high-growth entrepreneurs as an advisor and investor.
Rick has also served as a board member and executive member on numerous Boards of Directors, and has completed the Directors Education Program offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors. Board roles have included directorships of the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, Manning Centre for Building Democracy, Nuvo Network Management Inc., Zip.ca Inc., Partners in Planning Financial Group Ltd., Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI), and the Federation of Mutual Fund Dealers.
Rick has been highly active in politics and in commentary on public affairs, serving in senior advisory positions to former Prime Ministers and Party Leaders. He has been a frequent political affairs commentator for leading newspapers, magazines and broadcasters, including CTV, CBC Radio and TV, the Globe and Mail and others. Recently, Rick has begun teaching at Carleton University’s Graduate Program in Political Management.
